Who didn’t love Confessions of a Shopaholic? Rebecca Bloom loved a great deal, she made everything into a great deal in her mind, even if it was the worst deal ever. In honor of one of the greatest fashion movies of all time, here is a tip to keep in mind with respect to online shopping. I think even Rebecca would agree with me on this one.
Try on styles and sizes at all of the various stores you love prior to randomly ordering things you have never tried on online. Each store is different as far as sizing goes and if you are aware of the sizing differences even within some brands, you will be returning less and looking fabulous, all without going to the mall every weekend. Unless you want to. I’m not judging. I wish I could go every weekend. Those were the days….For instance, at the Limited, I know I wear a size small in tops, size 6 in dresses and size 6 in pants. But if the pants are a different cut that I am used to, the sizing is definitely different. If the top is super slim fitting, I might determine I am a size medium. Don’t force yourself to fit in a small when that is the size you normally wear, just so you can look terrible when a size medium would have looked fabulous. Get over the size. Wear what looks good on you instead.
