The New French Gesture: What is a Quenelle and Why Does Anyone Care?

Unless you live in France, you may not have heard of the quenelle. Or thought of it, if you're a foodie, as a delicious fish dish. In that case, you should probably go read the Wikipedia article on "Quenelle (gesture)" right now (at least the "origin" section). 

Unfortunately, the quenelle, like the Nazi salute, seems to be spreading as fast as its negative publicity. I still haven't seen one in real life, but I suppose it's just a matter of time.
