The Mitpallelim of the Kotel Kindly Request That Women Not Sing...

By Gldmeier @gldmeier

somebody, in the name of "the people who daven at the kotel" or on their behalf, posted the following sign  on the outer mechitza of the kotel.
Women commonly lean over that wall so they can hear their young bar mitzva boys daven, read form the Torah, etc. or somehow participate in other simchas happening at the Kotel.
Sometimes women there sing along to the tunes as well.
The Mitpallelim of the Kotel kindly request that women not sing...
The sign tells women to not sing in this holy place, though he generously tells them that they are allowed to be happy and make happy noises as is the custom (in small letters it gives the example of lu lu lu - a common ululating sound many Sefardi women make at joyous occasions)
