The Kat Von D Beauty Essentials?

By Hellofreckles @tashajsteel
Hello Freckles Kat Von D Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks Lovesick Beloved Tattoo LinerWe've all heard of Kat Von D, right? Whether you know of her through her tattoo artist skills, or you've followed her progression into beauty, she has certainly made a name for herself and it's the latter of the two I want to talk about today.
Kat Von D beauty recently launched in Debenhams, Metrocentre and the counters are gleamingly clean and very on brand, so I've been trialing some products to give you the low-down on what to try out if you're new to the collection, which is completely cruelty free.
Hello Freckles Kat Von D Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks Lovesick Beloved Tattoo Liner Review
The Tattoo Liner has pretty much cult status as a product and I was eager to try this. Having recently switched to gel liner (one from Maybelline currently that does not budge all day, or if you have a good cry - I'm not one to judge, we have those days) I was intrigued to try out the felt tip style again.

It glides on and makes it really easy to get those cat eye flicks and stays put really well which is great. However I don't find it lives up to it's waterproof 24 hour wear status. Maybe I need to keep trying it, but with hayfever and the dreaded watery eyes (and y'know hormones mixed with watching SATC sometimes there's the odd tear and next thing I know it's dripping down my cheek) I need something that will stay put. I'll stick with my gel liner for days when I'm extra sneezy and give the Tattoo Liner a go when the summer has passed perhaps.
Hello Freckles Kat Von D Beauty Lock It Foundation Review
Kat Von D Lock It Foundation is available in 30 shades, which is just astounding. Even better, I'm not the palest shade. Hooray! Whether you're cool toned (like me) or have a warmer toned complexion there's a shade to suit you. Lock It offers full coverage and truly does last. I like to apply a small amount with my fingertips and blend out with my RT expert face brush, so you can still see some freckles through, but it is buildable and like I say, full coverage. At £27 it's a mid-range price point and I'd highly recommend getting color matched and giving it a go.

Remember when liquid lipsticks first came out and everyone was raving about the concept? It kinda became the norm but these Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are quite possibly the best I've tried. Though I must offer a disclaimer; I've only tried two shades...so far. Lovesick, a mauve nude that looks more purple toned on me (first swatch) and Beloved, a coral pink that I think is quite brightening for my complexion (second swatch below). I plumped for the two as they're just within my comfort zone of pink/pinky-red though I do think Lovesick looks a little different on me to what I'd expected when swatching.

Next I want to try out Bow and Arrow which I know is a really popular shade as who doesn't want a nude that stays put? They live up to their everlasting name. I challenge you to not buy them all!

Hello Freckles Kat Von D Beauty Shade and Light Contour Palette review Debenhams makeup
Of course I had to try the Shade and Light contour palette and I'm glad I did. It looked daunting at first with some shades definitely too dark for me to use as contour, however they work pretty well as eyeshadows. If you want that Kim K defined look, or something more subtle you can easily achieve that with this palette, just use a light hand as it's highly pigmented.

If you've not dipped your toes into the Kat Von D beauty collection before, I hope this proves useful as there's quite the range to be startled by at first! I'd recommend trying out the Lock It Foundation and Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. If you're looking for a new contour palette Shade and Light is great but I'm not sure it's necessarily an essential you need right away!

Have you tried any Kat Von D products? Is there anything you recommend me trying next?
