The Jolly Fisherman on the Quay Newcastle Restaurant Review Launch FoodSettling into a prime position in Newcastle is The Jolly Fisherman on the Quay. Completely transforming what once was The Waterline, this incredible renovation gives the building a new lease of life and immediately fits into the bustling quayside, with coastal touches throughout the interior. The Jolly Fisherman on the Quay Newcastle Restaurant Review LaunchThe Jolly Fisherman on the Quay Newcastle Restaurant Review Launch MocktailsThe Jolly Fisherman on the Quay Newcastle Restaurant Review Launch River Tyne ViewThe Jolly Fisherman on the Quay Newcastle Restaurant Review Launch FoodThe Jolly Fisherman on the Quay Newcastle Restaurant Review LaunchThe Jolly Fisherman on the Quay Newcastle Restaurant Review LaunchFrom the stripped back wooden beams, to the lamps with glass water droplet detailing, fishing basket lampshades and original wood flooring; everything pieces together perfectly to give a seaside twist right on the waters edge.

You may know The Jolly Fisherman from Craster and it seems only right for the restaurant to expand and open a sister site within the city center. Featuring all the favourites; crab sandwich and shellfish soup to the classic fish and chips, plus a very appealing A La Carte menu served in the restaurant upstairs, boasting incredible views across the Tyne.

Offered a selection of their menu to taste, I was certainly very impressed and the mocktails were great too, so don't worry about being designated driver, Sophie, their mixologist will certainly look after you. If however, its your night (or afternoon) to have a tipple or two, there's 70 wines on their list to browse and of course a range of cocktails, or beer.

The food tastes great, the staff are really friendly and it certainly feels like somewhere I could spend a cosy evening sipping some drinks in the bar, or celebrate upstairs and find an excuse to wear a nice dress (do I need an excuse though?!) The Jolly Fisherman on the Quay is open now and I'm sure I'll be returning soon.
