Listing the best art galleries in Europe can be near impossible as this is a continent that boasts leading museums with the world’s finest masterpieces. In this article, we will explore some of the must-visit galleries with art works from the likes of Picasso and Pollock.

Pompidou Centre in France

The Pompidou art gallery is one of Europe’s largest and houses a contemporary collection in a postmodernist building. Visitors can enjoy pieces from Kandinsky, Matisse, and Chagall, to name a few. It also has a vast number of exhibitions on the first and 6th floors featuring Dali, Richter, and Freud.

Kröller-Müller gallery in Netherlands

This is an emerging modern gallery in East Europe, located in Tallinn. Its art works are from the 18th century onwards and show pieces created during the Soviet Union. This museum is a combination of Soviet history and non-conformism that is displayed in an interesting exhibition. Even if you don’t know much about Estonian art, this gallery will provide you with an insight into the fascinating history of Soviet artists and their masterpieces.

The National Archaeological museum in Athens
