The Grumpy Barista | Petersham

By Takeeatfoodblog
I've heard a lot about The Grumpy Barista and seen heaps of photos of all their delicious dishes since they opened. I remember during the cronut craze The Grumpy Barista was one of the main places where you can get a range of insanely decorated cronuts. The hype of the cronut may have died down but the hype of The Grumpy Barista hasn't because they just keep cranking out innovative, vibrant and delicious dishes! Initially my friend's and I did not plan on going to The Grumpy Barista but the cafe we wanted to go had a power outage so it was temporarily closed. But I'm so glad that we ended up at The Grumpy Barista because the food did not disappoint and it ended up featuring on my Townske guide to some of Sydney's most colourful desserts- check it out: http://townske.com/guide/11970/rainbow-on-a-plate

Brioche toast | w/ ricotta, honey, macadamia, Persian fairy floss and edible flowers | $22
The brioche toast was as pretty as a painting! I was so hesitant in cutting and eating it but this dish isn't just all looks- it is packed full of sweetness, sourness, fruitiness, nuttiness.. everything ness.. :P  This dish is quite big so I would highly recommend that you share it with a friend or you will end up with a major sugar high!

PictureThe experience at The Grumpy Barista was very enjoyable! However, the waiter who was very outgoing and friendly some of his comments to my friends and I were a little bit insensitive e.g. when the food came out he said to us "now I know you're Asian so please go ahead and get your cameras out.." We laughed it off but if he said it to the wrong people he would of been in a bit of trouble- we appreciate your friendly service but please be careful of your words :) Other than that the experience was great and I can't wait to go back and try out some new dishes to come!
