Yesterday a dear friend of mine- who lives in Rome- invited us to visit her. In addition to the pleasure of spending time with her, she has updated me about the exhibitions I might visit in Rome now (even if there were no exhibitions at this time in Rome – quite impossible- you wouldn’t have enough time because there are a lot of thinks to visit!) The exhibitions - she has informed me about - are very interesting , for this reason I turn you her list.

The only location is a show of the art and the architecture of all time. If we add more an exhibition of great interest , we will achieve an excellent result and the question arises: how can you miss this exhibition, if you are in Rome? The answer is unequivocally one: you can not!

In this exhibition you will find more than 160 artistic, archaeological, ethnographic and documentary objects. The exhibition is divided into three sections that included the collections, the discoveries, the photos and a section devoted to the legend of the Queen of Sheba that has been present during the centuries, in the Jewish, Christian and Islamic literature.

The location is Exp'Ostia: the new cultural center of Rome. This new space has hosted its first exhibition: the Roman mosaics. A perfect combination between a symbol of the past and a modern space.The mosaics exhibited come from the Capitoline collections, found during the excavations. Fifteen mosaics are exposed, depicting different techniques both of flooring or of decoration

Ieri una mia cara amica che vive a Roma ci ha invitato ad andarla a trovare. Oltre al piacere di trascorrere del tempo con lei mi ha aggiornato su cosa potrebbe piacermi delle mostre presenti a Roma in questo momento ( anche se non ci fossero mostre in questo momento a Roma – fatto al quanto improbabile- c’è da vedere sempre tantissimo, tanto che il tempo non basta mai!) Le mostre che mi ha indicato sono però molto interessanti così vi giro l’elenco.

La sola location è uno spettacolo dell’arte e dell’architettura di ogni tempo, se in più aggiungiamo una mostra di grande interesse abbiamo raggiunto un ottimo risultato e la domanda sorge spontanea: come potete perdere questa mostra se siete a Roma? La risposa è inequivocabilmente una: non potete!

Il Colosseo, la Curia Iulia e il Tempio del Divo Romolo nel Foro romano, sono le sedi in cui si articola il percorso espositivo: dalle origini di Roma alla conquista dell'Italia e delle province; gli influssi culturali e religiosi; schiavitù e multi etnicità; visioni antiche e moderne. Il titolo richiama la potenza universale dell’impero romano. Non mancano le citazioni anche agli aspetti più “ crudi” di questa dominazione il tutto inserito nel complesso contesto che strutturava l’identità di una civiltà così influente. LA politica di Roma, nonostante delle contraddizioni, era orientata all’integrazione. Tutti questi concetti sono esposti attraverso sculture, rilievi, mosaici, affreschi, bronzi e monete e suddivisi in vari sezioni.

In questa mostra troverete oltre 160 oggetti di aggetti artistici, archeologici, etnografici e documentari. La mostra è divisa in tre sezioni che integrano le collezioni, le scoperte, documentazioni fotografiche e una parte dedicata alla leggenda della regina di Saba che alimenta da secoli al letteratura legata al Giudaismo, al Cristianesimo ed all’Islam.

Mosaici Romani
Mostra fino al 13 gennaio
La location è Exp’Ostia è il nuovo spazio culturale di Roma e questo nuovo spazio ha ospitato al sua prima mostra ovvero Mosaici di Roma. Un connubio perfetto fra una simbolo del passato e uno spazio moderno. I mosaici esposti arrivano dalle raccolte capitoline ritrovati durante gli scavi. Sono esposti quindici mosaici che rappresentano differenti tecniche sia di pavimentazione che di decorazione
Una sbirciatina la meritano queste mostre!
Ovviamente Roma ha moltissime altre iniziative e mostre ma giusto per un assaggio al scelta non è male!
