The Christmas in NYC Lottery is Open!

Posted on the 01 October 2013 by Jean Campbell

Christmas is coming a week early this year for a woman who has recently completed active treatment for breast cancer.  No Boobs About It, Inc. is awarding a Christmas in NYC…a “Pink Time Out” to a new survivor and her companion.

ChristmasChristmas in New York City is scheduled for the 18th, 19th and 20th of December. The winner of Christmas in New York City, and her companion, will spend three days and nights at the Marriott East Hotel at 49th Street and Lexington Avenue in the heart of Manhattan.

The Marriott is just a few short blocks from the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall with the Christmas Spectacular, and the beautifully decorated store windows on 5th Avenue.

“This Pink Time Out” includes three breakfasts in the Marriott dining room, two $ 100 dollar gift certificates for dinner at restaurants in the area, and aisle orchestra seats for  the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular.

Christmas in NYC is open to any woman who has completed active treatment for breast cancer, including surgery, chemo (oral, IV, or by injection) and /or radiation between October 1, 2012 and October 31, 2013.

The lottery, which opens on the 1st of October, will close on October 31st. The lottery drawing will be done the next day, November 1, 2013; the winner will be notified, and announced as soon as her support documentation is verified.

Please go to www.noboobsaboutit.org/pink-time-outs for complete information on eligibility for the trip, the selection process, and how to enter the lottery.

Christmas in NYC is being made possible through a generous gift from a group of students at Allen School for Health Sciences, in Brooklyn NY.

The “Pink Time Outs” Program began earlier this year. “Pink Time Outs” are all about giving a woman, recovering from breast cancer, the normalizing experience of a short getaway in an elegant setting. The Program is meant to help the transition from the long months of active treatment, with their exhausting side effects, to a new beginning in survivorship.

In the coming year, No Boobs About It, now a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization, will actively fundraise to expand the “Pink Time Outs” Program to encompass multiple getaways across the United States.
