The Choc Pot

By Takeeatfoodblog
Calling out to all my chocolate lovers! Chocolate oasis is right near you! :P I've heard so much about The Choc Pot and I've definitely seen countless photos of their famous 'Choc Pot' on Instagram. Last month my uni friends and I were at my friend's place at Burwood eating hot pot (thumbs up for hot pot!) and afterward being a little pig I am, suggested we get dessert at The Choc Pot as I realised that my friend lives a few minutes away from it! Unfortunately everyone was way too full and I judged for being such a pig :P A few weeks later my friend ended up going and she told me it was the MOST amazing place she has been to and that I had to go! So once again my uni friends and I gathered together for dinner at Burwood and I was determined this time to go to The Choc Pot for dessert, throughout dinner I was reminded my friends not to each too much so we could eat more dessert (such a bad influence!).

The Choc Pot is a small dessert cafe located off the main Burwood road. I actually didn't expect it to be so small but luckily is there outdoor seating. We arrived around 7:30pm and it was quite empty so we were luckily enough to fit our group indoors. The staff greeted us immediately with warm and friendly smiles, they even helped us to move around the tables to fit everyone. Once I looked at the menu I knew I wanted to order EVERYTHING, I definitely had to hold myself back! In the end we decided to order a few desserts to share. We ordered the famous and must order 'Choc Pot', waffles with marshmallow and the red velvet hot chocolate. My other friends ordered the waffles with strawberry and the chocolate brownie (extremely rich and sinful :P). It is a little bit pricey for what you get but I guess it is acceptable to treat yourself once in awhile!

Warning- these photos may cause you to lick your screen :P

Red Velvet Hot Chocolate | $6
I absolutely love red velvet and once I saw red velvet hot chocolate on the menu I knew I had to try it out! This is definitely something very different from your standard hot chocolate. It has an extremely creamy texture that runs down your throat. It was leaning more towards the sweet side but in moderation it was a very enjoyable drink. I would of liked it more if there was a stronger red velvet flavouring. This is definitely perfect for a cold night!

Waffling Pillow Mallows | Home- made crunchy waffle topped with gooey home- made marshmallows and covered with melted Belgian chocolate (extra $ for ice cream) | $14
The waffles were extremely crunchy on the inside but fluffy and light on the inside. The combination of marshmallows with the waffles were a little bit too sweet for us, so we preferred the waffle and strawberry combination because the strawberries makes the dessert less sweet. I definitely enjoyed the waffles and it could easily be one of the best waffles here in Sydney (so go and try it out!)

The Choc Pot | Signature dessert - Molten chocolate inside a freshly baked fondant | $12
The Choc Pot was the dessert I was dying to try! Say hello to the most photogenic and delicious dessert in town :) The Choc Pot comes in a small and cute pot plant looking cup/ pot, the chocolate is already oozing out from the fondant and extra chocolate is poured on the top- major chocolate overload! Once you place your spoon into it an explosion of chocolate goodness overflows and slowly pours out onto the sides of the pot onto the board. The edges of the fondant are crisp, whereas the inside is soft and gooey. This dessert was very decadent and now I know why it is The Choc Pot's signature dish.

Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae | Home- made salted caramel brownie smothered in melted dark Belgian chocolate, topped with a scoop of Connoisseur vanilla ice- cream, whipped cream and home- made honeycomb pieces
My friend ordered this dessert for himself and we were very impressed that he almost finished the whole thing! I got to try a little bit but after one bite I found it way too sweet! I guess if you had a few spoonfuls at a time it would be more enjoyable with a lot of water in between. If my friend almost finished it all I think the verdict is that he thoroughly enjoyed it!
Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Picture Overall, the chocolate experience at The Choc Pot was very enjoyable and I'm happy that I finally got to try it out for myself! There is a large selection of desserts and not all contain chocolate, so for all those out there that don't like chocolate (judging you!!) you can choose something else. The staff and the service they provided is to be highly commended, they were definitely a bunch of down to earth friendly people! So forget your diets for one day and go and visit The Choc Pot to be immersed in chocolate heaven!

Also a big thanks to my friends who helped me take some of the pictures shown above :) Can't wait for our next food adventure!

Happy eating x
