There's (as always) a bit of a story that doubles as justification for this gratuitous purchase. I've had this particular style on my ongoing wishlist for over a year now, forever drawn in by the buttery soft Italian leather, the delicate charm chain and the tougher, wide shoulder strap detail. My only question and drawback each time I got near to a Chloé store or concession was: which colour? Until I went on holiday to Hong Kong in August and noted my cousins BOTH toting one. Each.
Of course we wandered over to the Chloé store in Tsim Sha Tsui for a post-飲茶 shop and they selected this peachy coral and nude colourway for me. In fact, I did return to England empty-handed.
But now I'm here permanently with a shiny new job and at our work sample sale, lo and behold, was MY bag in MY colourway.
The Chloé Baylee is a beautiful, luxury update to the daily tote that you'd carry around to work, to shop or to play. With plenty of room to store the essentials plus with enough room for a tablet or Kindle, it's ideal for long commutes. There are lots of sneaky little compartments in the main section, which I use to stash keys, my Octopus card and spare cash, but the real beauty comes with its two-tone look, meaning you could essentially flip the bag around to match your outfit.
I adore the top handles, the glimmers of gold hardware and the handy wide shoulder strap: it actually looks super cool and modern with the wider shape! I'm so pleased I finally bought this bag, I'm completely smitten with it and I've used it almost every day since picking it up.
