barrbrothers THE BARR BROTHERS LIGHT IT UP WITH FLASHLIGHTS [BUZZSESSION]

The singular release listed on iTunes under The Barr Brothers is a deceiving indicator.  The Montreal/Rhode Island-based folk quartet is an experienced and diverse collective featuring, you guessed it, brothers Brad and Andrew Barr (both formerly of The Slip), as well as Andres Vial, and the beautiful Sarah Page.

A few weeks ago, we were fortunate enough to film with them in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  With flashlights in hand, we illuminated the band and proceeded to film them as they performed “Cloud (For Lhasa)” and “Deacon’s Son” off of their 2011 self-titled debut record.  Watch both videos below and snag the free downloads of the recordings.  If you fancy the studio recording, click here.

Big ups to Derek Eads for the album art seen above.  For more of his work, click here.

If you like what you see, click the “like” button below!  Believe it or not, clicking that button helps us keep these sessions coming.

‘Buzzsessions’ is a live session series made by The Wild Honey Pie.  With each new episode, we travel with a different band to a different part of New York City and record sometimes-intimate/sometimes-wild versions of two or three songs which are given away for free.
