There’s a new band making it’s way onto American soil via Sweden: The Amazing. They’ve been called “Sweden’s Super Group” and have been coined as a psychedelic rock band, although on both points, the band members humbly don’t agree. What we’re really enjoying about this band is how they like to play around with their songs. In fact, while in the recording studio the guys say that they improvise and “do whatever they want.” The track “Safe Island” off their latest album Picture You is an 8.5-minute track that intermixes a non-lyrical chorus in between the verses. They use effects on the vocals combined with the steady drum beats that keep you intrigued as you assume you’re listening to a modern rock band. Then in the last three minutes of the song, they turn towards hard electric and a lot of effect and you’re left in awe that you’re still on the same track. We’re sure the rest of their album will leave you wondering what’s next and hoping for a tour sometime soon.
