My dear friend, Carol, appeared an hour ago with sliders from White Castle...
and the book I'd given her from World Book Night (Code Name Verity).
We read together until she had to leave. Her husband awaits, while mine is having a frustrating day at work overseeing the IT department and yet another transition.
If only he could read like us.
I have finished my second book of the day, The Quickening by Michelle Hoover (see review below). I'm not a terribly fast reader, but there is no sense rushing through one's passion. And, some books are just meant to be read slowly.
Now to begin the third book of the 'thon, The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair by Joel Dicker. It was just sent to me by Penguin this week, and it looks more thrilling than I can say.
