Textiles India 2017- Biggest Textile Event to Be Held in Ahmedabad

Honourable Textile Minister of India Smt. Smriti Irani yesterday made a considerable announcement of “Textile India 2017”. The Textile Ministry of India in association with The Fashion Design Council of India has planned a huge, first ever Global Textile Event in June 2017.

The Textile India 2017 would be held on 30th June,1st,2nd July at Mahatma Mandir, Ahmedabad (Gandhinagar)

On 18th of April, they presented a curtain raiser for “Textiles India 2017” at the Craft Museum, Delhi. This event was hosted by Ministry of textile, Government of India under the leadership of Union Textile Minister Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, State minister Ajay Tamta. Rashmi Verma, Secretary, Textiles along with other senior officials too were present.

The presentation brought up the vision of our Prime Minister shri Narendra Modi -“farm to fiber,fiber to factory,factory to fashion and fashion to foreign”.

Moreover it would present the entire range of products from “fiber to fashion” and would be inaugrated by prime minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. Along with our honourable Prime minister would be present the Minister of Textile, India Smt. Smrirti Irani and Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitely.

There would be large exhibition of our Textile and Handicraft industry. As the reports stated, there would be more than 1000 international and domestic exhibitors which would be participating in the event. As per the data, there would be more than 2500 international buyers and 15000+ domestic buyers.

Many Fashion Designers from across the country would be showcasing their unique collections at the Fashion Show.

This event aims at India as Global Sourcing Hub & investment destination.It would also explore the productivity and challenges for the natural fibers, the talent requirements in high value chain in textile sector of India and the potential growth of man-made fiber.

The Ministry of Textile, India also promised with context to “Textile India 2017” that there would be huge achievements and development of Textile sector of India with the help of this Major B2B Textile Event. It would be a marvellous platform for the collaboration of global investors, buyers and manufacturers in Textile sector.

Curtain Raiser event of Textiles India 2017 was on 18th April 2017 at the crafts museum Delhi. India’s renowned fashion designers participated in this fashion event, narrating the story of artisans, weavers of India through their work.

Abraham & Thakore, Anita Dongre, Anuj Bhutani, Anuradha Pegu, Amit Aggarwal, Chaman Premji, Good Earth, Hemant Agarwal, Kaleekal, Masaba Gupta, Madhu Jain, Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rahul Misra, Ritu Kumar, Rimzim Dadu, Rohit Bal, Sanjay Garg, Sabyasachi, Samant Chauhan, Shades of India – Mandeep Nagi, Sunita Shankar, Suket Dhir, Wendell Rodricks & Tarun Tahiliani participated in this fashion show showcasing diverse designs of the Indian textiles sector focusing on Cotton, Silk, Wool, Woven & hand-printed, Embroidered as well as Modern & Futuristic textiles.

Now, we are eagerly waiting for this spectacular event to take place in Ahmedabad.
