Ten Things

Hello!  How has your week been?  Remember I said last week that my youngest was ill?  Well, her bug has slowly worked it’s way around all of us, and gosh, are we tired.  This weekend is very much one for putting my feet up as much as you can with two little kids underfoot, drinking a lot of tea (loose leaf!), and trying not to put the washing machine on because the thing hasn’t been off all week!

Here are some links for your weekend:

1. In case you haven’t heard, Michael Gove is the new Environment Secretary.  Here’s his voting record on green issues in case you’re curious.  Spoiler – it’s grim.  He did get off to a good start though so maybe all is not lost?  Maybe??

2. Young people are the key to fighting climate change.

3.  Even if you’re not in the ‘young’ category (*sob*), here are real tangible things you can do about climate change.

4. Turns out viscose isn’t quite so sustainable as we’d hoped.

5.  Microbeads are back, but this time they are good for the environment?

6. Podcast fans – there’s a new podcast on the block from Clare Press.  Wardrobe Crisis is a fashion podcast that discusses the effects of the fashion industry on people and the planet, with a focus on ethics, sustainability, consumerism, activism, identity and creativity.  I will be all ears!

7. David Attenborough narrates a typical British night out and it’s hilarious!

8.  I’ve never been to Cornwall before, but now I’m craving a trip after seeing these beautiful photos.

9.  Oh my gosh, yes please!

10.  And last, but certainly not least by any means, here’s how you can help the residents of Grenfell Tower.   What’s happened is truly devastating, and I have no words.

And here are three posts from the Moral Fibres archive you may have missed:

Some sage advice.

How to grow your own food, the zero waste way.

Banana oat cookies – a great way to use up black bananas.

Enjoy your Sunday!
