Taye Diggs: Should Black Women Support Him?

Posted on the 24 November 2013 by Elle @Elle_Sweetest
I have been doing a little catching up on our guy Taye Diggs. Personally, well not personally because I WAS only a fan, ill say opinionated-ly, I am definitely not liking what I am reading. It seems Mr. Diggs isn't really 'digging' and has been 'dogging' the sistahs. Considering his career consists of movies that are made box office hits by black women and gay men one would think Taye had a little more love for his racial counterparts. Taye has been quoted (or misquoted as he says) saying some things that may make me throw movies he will star in on the 'get it bootleg' list. According to CreamBMP.com (http://creambmp.com/articles/taye-diggs-best-man-black-women-miss-wife/)

Mr. Diggs had this to say in regards to sharing a set with black women for the Best Man Holiday movie:“Let’s just say its not a stereotype that black women are less submissive and harder to deal with. Being around all them black women made me really miss my wife” Stumbling out of a New York bar fresh off a world wind press tour in Los Angeles with wife Idina Menzel in tow Taye spoke briefly on the cast and breakaway success of ‘The Best Man Holiday’. Somebody will be upset and say i got rich and deserted my female people; No offense, but the only black woman I ever loved is my mama. – Taye Diggs
Why do we as black women keep supporting black men that obviously do not support us. I am not saying TD can't marry who he wants, that's none of my concern. His wife could be fudge rippled for all I care, but because you choose fudge rippled does not make it better than chocolate, its just your personal preference. I will never spend a dime on anything Mr. Diggs is associated with as well as anyone else that openly opposes black women. I hope more of us will do the same.
