Tasty Tuesday - Easy Fried Chicken

By Parentingsmh @parentingsmh
We usually try to stay away from fried foods, but every once in a while I have a hankering for something not so healthy.
One of my favorite not so healthy foods is fried chicken.
Now I remember growing up in New York there were chicken joints everywhere.  If it wasn't Kentucky, it was Kansas, Maryland, or whatever state they could throw up on a sign and drop in the middle of Brooklyn.
Unlike most people, I never liked Kentucky Fried Chicken, and those other places weren't too great either.
By the time I was in high school I could make a mean fried chicken and I got even better in college.
The secret to my fried chicken is to just keep it simple.
Tasty Tuesday - Easy Fried ChickenIngredients:
1/2 tbsp Salt1/2 tbsp Black pepper1/2 tbsp Chili Powder1/2 Cup Flour1 cup vegetable or peanut oil
This works for about 6 pieces of chicken.
Start out by pouring the oil into a deep pan and preheating the pan.I use a cast iron pan.
Season the chicken with the salt, pepper, and chili powder.Rub in until all pieces are covered.
Place the flour in a shallow container and coat each piece of chicken with a light coating of flour then place into hot oil.
Allow the chicken to fry until brown.Occasionally turn the chicken to make sure all sides get equally brown (usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes).Remove from pan with a fork or tongs and place on paper towels to soak excess oil.
The best part about this recipe is its super easy.Who can't handle 3 seasoning ingredients.
If you're in need of a side dish, check out last week's mashed potato recipe.
Try this out and share it with a friend.
