A few days before Christmas we were out on our penultimate wedding for the year. Christie & Ben had chosen us as their Symondsbury Tithe Barn Wedding Photographer.
The Symondsbury area is a magical part of the Dorset countryside. A secluded village just outside Bridport. It’s scenic rolling hillsides surrounding this private country estate. Scattered amongst it, a number of boutique country cottages and assorted wedding venues.
Their day was different. It was family within a family. The Bride & Groom, relatives & friends, of course, along with wedding supplier ‘family’.
An assortment of familiar friends we have got to know over the years. The Bidesmaid & event organiser at Athelhampton house, Laura, the Groom’s mother, a very talented florist, Kirsten (MUA), and the wedding rings being hand made by my brother.
A warm group of connected people. Gathered to celebrate, create and capture a beautiful Dorset winter wedding celebration.

There’s something about working up to and so close to the Christmas period.
Family & guests jointly celebrating a wedding, along with the start of festivities. Whilst photographers, being mindful of limited light and changeable weather needing to work fluidly and efficiently, to capture all given opportunities.
Everything aligning correctly and the story being captured well. It’s only then can we hope to relax, unwind and kick back to enjoy our own Christmas celebrations.
We were working as a Symondsbury Tithe Barn Wedding Photographer at the height of the winter season. The pleasure of being in this superbly renovated tithe barn, equipped with skylight windows. With it maximising the natural light and producing beautiful ceremony picture opportunities
Our reward
Within every wedding captured, we aim to leave knowing there is a particular image, that speaks to us. Something that reflects the day & the experience. It is unique of the couple, along with the venue – a moment that can’t be replicated.
This time, like countless others – we hit the mark! During the ceremony, Ben’s choice of personal wedding vows caused Christie to fold with laughter. A strong, emotive image that we love!!!
