SXSW Highlights: Scala & Kolacny Brothers

Scala & Kolacny Brothers

If you listen closely you can tell that this choir’s native language isn’t English. That doesn’t stop them from doing fairly haunting covers of some pretty serious names. Their most notable is this cover of Radiohead’s Creep. Obviously it’s not the normal kind of thing I write about but it really is hard to ignore this version.

One of the main reasons for this tracks popularity is its use in The Social Network trailer last year and there’s something about being heard by over 250 million people that does something for your kudos.

Their repetoire covers Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Wheatus, Metallica and Bruce Springsteen so they’re worth checking out for unique twists on old classics.

You really should hear this.
