Surviving the Christmas Party Season

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
It's just over a week until Christmas and the party season is well and truly underway. Whether it's a night out with friends, workmates or family, it's always fun to glam yourself up for the big night! The very lovely people at the St. Enoch Centre surprised me with a Christmas gift in the form of 2 gift boxes tied together with pretty ribbon (I Instagrammed the boxes here), and inside I was so excited to see a selection of Christmas party essentials. The products put together in this Christmas Party Survival Kit* all come from stores within the St. Enoch Centre and are so perfect for pampering yourself both before and after your Christmas party.

The Christmas party: Makeup is an exciting part of pre-party preparation for me as I just love to sit and take the time to do my makeup as well as I can. For me it's all about more dramatic eyes and lips, and this kit definitely has the lips sorted with the addition of the Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate Moss Lipstick (#01). This is such a gorgeous red shade which is so pigmented and makes your makeup look that bit more special for your night out.
This is probably going to come as a shock but I've never actually worn false lashes in my life. Bad beauty blogger, I know! It was great to see these Claire's Accessories Glam Lashes in the box as it gives me the push to finally try out false lashes, so watch this space as I'm sure I'll be posting about them once I give them a go.
It's no secret that I'm a nail polish addict so I was very happy to see a bottle of nail polish in the box! I'm already a big fan of the Topshop nail polishes and the shade included is Topshop Heart of Gold which is a pretty metallic gold. Gold is such a great color for Christmas nails and I'm already wearing this shade as part of a ring finger manicure.
Statement jewelry is such a big thing these days and although it all seems to be about necklaces right now, I love the gold statement bracelet from Dorothy Perkins that was included in my box of goodies. It's chunky enough to make a statement and I'm sure it would go with a lot of outfits as it's just a plain gold color.
The final item in the pre-party kit is a packet of the Scholl Party Feet Invisible Heel Shields which are a god-send when it comes to going out in heels. As gorgeous as a pair of heels may look, there is a high chance that they may be hard to walk in or that they will cut into your feet which can be very painful. These gel shields are used to stop your shoes from slipping and also to prevent the shoes from cutting into your heels.

The morning after:
A long lie is always lovely and this is especially true after a night out. This Claire's Accessories Polka Dot Stripe Eye Mask gives you a great opportunity to shut out the rest of the world and just make the most of your beauty sleep!
Once you're up and about after a nice long sleep I'm sure a little pamper is in order. Tired feet deserve some TLC after a night out too, so this tub of The Body Shop Peppermint Reviving Foot Soak was a very welcome addition in my life. The peppermint scent is so refreshing and this soak leaves your feet feeling very relaxed so it's a must have.
Your complexion might not be looking its best after a night out so operation 'healthy skin' is a-go. This Body Shop All-In-One Blusher in Bubblegum (#05) is such a pretty shade of pink and does a lovely job of adding a healthy glow to your cheeks without looking too over the top. I'm a bit of a blusher fiend so it was lovely to try one out from The Body Shop and I'm happy to report back that the powder is nicely formulated with good pigmentation and looks so natural on the cheeks when blended.
The final item in the morning after kit was most certainly a good 'un as it was.. chocolate! I have a very sweet tooth so I can never say no to a bit of chocolate, and this Alternative Mince Pie from Hotel Chocolat was a lovely treat to have. I don't tend to have many mince pies at Christmas time but this little mince pie made of chocolate had to be tasted straight away!
Thank you to the St. Enoch Centre & The Big Partnership for my lovely Christmas surprise and I'm sure each item will be getting plenty of use during the rest of the Christmas season.
*All items shown were kindly gifted to me from the St. Enoch Centre.
