Surigao's Pebble Beach

By Wanderingjoshua
I was only in Surigao City as a transit point to Dinagat Islands and Siargao, but that didn't stop me from seeing a few of the sights in this city.

I rode a tricycle that went to Mabua, the main attraction in this part of the province is the very unique pebble beach. It's surprising to see that the entire beach is not made of sand, but pebble. The sight was quite refreshing.

The Philippines has so many kinds of beaches from fine white sand to golden to brown to pink to black and now pebble beach. Make sure to catch the sunset before leaving this one of a kind beach.
How to Get to Pebble Beach
Ride a Mabua bound tricycle or a habal-habal and alight at any of the resorts that line the shore of pebble beach. The tricycle or habal-habal ride will take you around 30 minutes. The fare will cost somewhere between P50 to P100 one-way.

For the only night I was in Surigao City I stayed in Firma's Lodge. I got the aircon room good for two for P500. It was OK nothing special, good enough for a night or two in the city. There are other attractions near Day-Asan, which was a P50 habal-habal ride away. You can rent a boat to go around the floating villages and visit some of the islands for P500 (the whole boat not per person). There is also a nearby cave which I wasn't able to go to as well. I'd love to go back to this city and explore more of its attractions.
