Support on Release for Offenders

By Umkhaloodie

Was just listening to Radio 5, a UK radio station, ‘you can take the girl out of the UK but you can’t take the UK out of the girl’, part of my morning routine, anyway, there was a discussion about how Offenders should get Support on Release. Yesterday, the Queen’s bill passed a law that all offenders get support.

How do you feel about this?
Should criminals/rapists/murderers that perhaps have served half of a life sentence be given support on release?
Prisons are supposed to give people time to ‘think’, time to ‘reflect’, ‘reflect on what they have done’ but yet most offenders reoffend with the same offense or similar within 6 months.
I’m not sure of the system here. Is there any kind of support given to offenders once they are freed or are they shunned by society?
