Sunset Grill by Don Henley.

Posted on the 01 January 2012 by Melodicwisdom

When I heard this song today I immediately thought – this place has to be in Los Angeles. After all, Don Henley has talked about L.A. before – remember Hotel California? So I looked up the song tonight and big surprise – it’s about a restaurant on Sunset Blvd. Today, it’s a  very popular place to eat thanks to Mr. Henley’s song reference. It’s also a favorite among musicians. Very cool.

Sunset Grill was released in August of 1985 from the album, Building the Perfect Beast. It went to #7 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks and #22 on the Hot 100. Patti Smyth sings harmony vocals, Pino Palladino plays bass, and Randy Newman arranged the synthesizers.

Curious about the restaurant? See their official website HERE. Another place I need to visit one day. Maybe Don will be there?
