I must admit I’ve been in a total writing funk with regards to the blog this weekend. It was a busy week and so I pencilled some time in yesterday afternoon to pop a few Spotify playlists on and really get to grips with writing the bare bones of some new posts. I got about as far as two paragraphs and creating post titles for 3 weeks’ worth of post ideas and ended up in bed with a crippling tummy ache and several old Michalaks’ vlogs.
But I did end up writing a huge hunk of a blog post that’ll likely go up next week and I’ll hopefully have some time this afternoon to write the posts I so desperately wanted to. Today’s big task has been to rejig my bedroom. I’m moving the furniture around and can’t decide if I want to, but my current room at my parents’ is just SO small. More motivation to get that deposit saved and ready to go, eh?
一. I turned the grand ol’ age of 26 on Thursday 2nd March 2017 and it felt really strange. I’m putting together a separate photo diary full of moments from my day but it was a lovely 24 hours and I certainly don’t feel any older or wiser! My family and I headed out for a Bill’s dinner the previous evening and then my wonderful boyfriend treated me to my first time at Jinjuu Mayfair! And as for presents, I received nothing but love (literally) and… Harvey’s decided on treating me to my Mansur Gavriel bag of d-r-e-a-m-s! Hold me.
二. I’ve been busy taking my entire room apart and putting it back together but in a better way today. Although I’m planning to move out in the medium-distant future, my bedroom continues to be a safe haven for me in my parents’ room - any other British-born Chinese bloggers find that their parents are epic hoarders?! - and so I finally roped Dad and Daisybrother into assisting me. I’m utterly in love with the new set-up and it should make for wonderfully lit blog photos. Would you like a little post about it all?
三. Earlier this week I had a date in my diary for a very, very overdue catch-up with the hilariously witty and undoubtedly cool retired-blogger Gem. (Gem Fatale, doncha know?!) I realised that she’d moved to a little town where I practically grew up and so I tracked her down for a chinwag over some cake and a coffee. I think the last time we hung out was, incredulously, back when we were both on the early LFW circuit! And even today, Gem remains that gal that I desperately wish was my big sister!
四. It’s been a BIG week for Professional Michelle this week. I’ve been pondering a few options for my year ahead and I keep getting utterly lost in my thoughts. I managed to secure some awesome accounts for my freelance copywriting business and I’ve had the most amazing opportunity slide under my door too. Watch this space because it’s about to get a bit crazy ;)
五. Finished a short slice-of-life K-drama last night entitled ‘The Sound of Your Heart’ and it was so good! Totally recommend it to fans of Lee Kwang Soo and/or Running Man in general. I hear it’s based on a seriously popular webtoon series; each ‘episode’ on Netflix contains two shorts and they’re so funny if not a touch crude in parts. You’ve been warned!
