Sunday Lunch Recipe 3 : Khatta Meetha Kaddu Ki Sabzi

Sweet-sour Pumpkin or Khatta Meetha Kaddu sabzi is a must try for people who hates pumpkin. With flavors of spices and sweetness of pumpkin gives a nice taste to the dish.
Easy and quick to make. You can serve it as a side dish along with other vegetables, poori or roti
Sunday Lunch Recipe 3 : Khatta Meetha Kaddu ki sabzi
Servings : 4-5 persons
Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking time : 10-15 minutes. 

Ingredients :

Pumpkin : 150 gms

Mustard seeds : 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds : 1/4 tsp
Fenugreek seeds (meethi dana) : 1/4 tsp
Whole red chili : 1
Curry leaves : 4-5 
Asafoetida (Hing) : a pinch
Red chili powder : 1/4 tsp
Dry coriander powder : 1 tsp
Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
Lemon juice : 1 tsp
Sugar : 2- 2 1/2 tsp
Water: 1/2 to 3/4 cup
Salt : to taste
Oil : 3 tsp

Method :
1. Peel and cut pumkin into medium size cubes. Wash them thoroughly with water. Keep it aside.

2. Heat oil in a kadhai, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds. When splutter add whole red chili, asafoetida and curry leaves. Saute them.
3. Add diced pumpkin, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, dry coriander powder and water. 
4. Cover it with a lid on a medium flame and cook for about 5-10 minutes or until pumpkin is tender. 
5. Remove the lid and add lemon juice, sugar and salt. Mix it well.  Cook it for a minute.
6. Serve with masala poori and Aloo ki sabzi

Handy Notes :
# Instead of lemon juice you can add dried mango powder (amchur)
