Sunday Afternoon BBQ

By Marensmorsels @marentweets

Happy Sunday! I’m sorry for being so absent this weekend. Yesterday I wasn’t home all day and taking pictures of random eats just didn’t fit in the schedule, I’m sad. Then today I had a light breakfast, went on a good run, and then hung out with the other workers form the children’s theater for a farewell bbq.

Breakfast

I made a sweet apple sausage with a slice of Ezekiel Bread toast and strawberry jam. Perfect pre-run fuel since I wasn’t hungry after my run until almost 4pm. Holy cow!

I also enjoyed a mug of English Breakfast Tea with soy.

Fitness

My average was in the 10’s! I’m a happy girl.

I didn’t have my Garmin set to record my splits per mile so I can’t share. But they were all pretty similar, in the upper 10’s.

I left my house planning on doing a little loop. Maybe 1.5ish miles, but once I got going I felt pretty good so I decided to try for 3. 3 miles is my goal distance for an average day and I want to work up to 6 once a week for my long run. I think I can do it in a few weeks.

I was glad I left my house when I did because at 2.3 miles it started to get warm out. I like running in fog.

The BBQ and Cookies

For the party I made my oatmeal cookies with butterscotch chips. Holy delicious.

I think these are my favorite cookie, EVER! Butterscotch is almost better than chocolate.

At the BBQ I snacked on celery, I love celery. Then I had a burger on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, Dijon mustard, and red onion and a little side of home made potato salad.
