Sunday

By Rubytuesday
It was this morningThe same as any other Sunday morningExcept the clocks had gone forward And confused me so I had got up an hour earlier than I would normallyI watched tv for a whileAnd drifted in and out of sleepI finally managed to wake up at about 10amGot myself together And brought the dogs for a walkIt rained We got soakedAnd headed back to the houseMarie textedWe arranged to meet at the lunch time meetingI changed my clothesAnd got ready for the meetingJumped in my carAnd headed off
I think a lot when I driveI couldn't tell you what I was thinking aboutI know I was driving through the villageMass was just over and there were air of people milling aboutCars pulling in and outI was driving slowly Was just driving by a junctionWhen I saw itA green jeepThere are a lot of green jeeps around where I liveAnd everytime I see one my heart stopsI scanned the registration plateIt was hisMy heart now started to palpitate He was at the junctionSo I drove right by his eyelineI didn't look to see if it was himI knew it wasI wanted to put my foot down and get the hell out of thereBut the car in front of me slowed to a crawlIt seemed to take forever for me to drive pastI don't know if he saw meI don't really careBut by the time I got to the meeting I was a messI had to sit in my car for a couple of minutesAnd just breatheAnd calm downI managed to compose myselfAnd headed in to the meeting
I guess it was bound to happen I was bound to run in to him sooner or laterIn reality we frequent the same villages and townsThis is a small areaIt was always going to happenBut stillI wasn't prepared for itAnd it rattled me something seriousJust knowing that he is around unsettles me
But how and everIt happened I survived I'm sure it will happen againAnd I will survive that too
In other newsI reconnected with an old friend yesterdayWhen I first moved hereI used to attend meetings regularlyI mentioned in my last post that I was friendly with two of the menOne of the men in particular became a family friendI guess he was like a sponsor to me reallyWe were friends for yearsBut I went of the railsAnd pulled away from him and all my friendsI've spoke to him maybe a couple of times in the last few yearsAnd yesterday I rang himHe didn't know who it was at firstI kept him guessing When he heard me speakHe knew thenIt was so good to speak to himAnd he was delighted to hear from meWe arranged to meet tomorrow and then get a meeting inHe's someone that I want in my life
So I am doing okKeeping close to good friendsGetting a lot of meetingsStaying out of troubleI'm tryingAnd that's the main thing
