images via Golds PharmacyI always leave for holiday, not only armed with plenty of sun protection but also anything medical that I think my children might possibly need.So far we've been accident & illness-free on holiday....but you just never know.
I can't get enough of a French pharmacy when it comes to the shelves & shelves of amazing beauty products....
but have you ever tried explaining your symptoms to a pharmacist in a isolated local chemist and who, not surprisingly, doesn't speak any English & does not appear to understand any part of your mimed actions as you point to the injured/afflicted part of your anatomy.Some things are difficult/impossible to mime without causing fear or possibly laughter!
It's even worse when you have a sick child & you need relief ASAP for all your sakes.I have been in the position of searching in vain for a medicine that was "similar" to home....in Italy, we found miracle travel sickness tablets for my children but that was a one-off.
So I travel armed with sufficient quantities of whatever I anticipate I might need....aftersun, medicines for fever, antihistamines, travel sickness tablets & plenty of insect bite spray & cream....my daughter is a magnet for all European insects it would seem.
