Summer Dresses You Can Dress Up and Down

Summer is a time for dresses. They're such fuss free ways to keep cool and look stylish. They are also easy to dress up and down with just a few accessory changes. If you are looking for some styles, take a look at some of the outfits I put together and shop for more at the end of this post.

Summer Dresses You Can Dress Up and Down

Check out the three dresses below. On the left I styled them casually on the left and on the right I chose accessories to dress them up.

Dress #1

Summer Dresses You Can Dress Up and Down

This first easy knit dress style from Banana Republic is one that is comfortable to wear and packs well for a trip. It's also a simple neutral that can be styled with all sorts of colors.

In the outfits above, I styled the dress casually with flat sandals in hot pink from Sam Edelman, a silver tote from Steve Madden and stud earrings from Tory Burch. On the right, I elevated the dress with grey suede slides from Dolce Vita, a blush crossbody from J. Crew and necklace from Banana Republic.

Dress #2

The drawback to wearing dresses in the summer is baring the legs. When it matters, I usually use Sally Hansen's Airbrush Legs to give my legs an even tone and slight tan. You can also select maxi styles, like this one from Theory.

You can easily dress up and down these types of dresses. On the left I styled it with a denim jacket from J. Crew, a grey tote from Sole Society, off white Birkenstocks and tassel earrings from Ann Taylor.

For a dressier look I styled the dress with a crossbody bag from Chloe, grey block heel sandals from Vince, a tissue weight scarf from Nordstrom and beaded drop earrings from J. Crew.

Dress #3

This last dress from Lands' End is a popular summer silhouette for its versatility. It's such an easy style to change up. I styled it casually on the left with slip on sneakers from Comfortiva, and printed Kipling bag. On the right, all it took was a pair of wedge sandals from Sofft, a dressier bag from Elliott Lucca and gold pendant from Bauble Bar.
