Summer Beauty Guide: Summer Essentials

By Beauteandtheblog
Hello everyone!
Today I'm starting a new series called the "Summer Beauty Guide" where I will be showcasing product reviews, tips, and tricks for the summer season. First on the agenda is a list of absolute summer essentials. Let's get started!
1. SUNSCREEN. No ifs, ands, or buts -- you need this stuff.
It doesn't matter if you're so genetically gifted that you tan like a greek goddess. Everyone. needs. sunscreen. And not only do you need it, you need it every time you walk under the sun's rays. The sun can seriously damage your skin without some sort of protection, and by the time you get up in years, your skin will look and feel like leather. Not attractive at all. So protect yourself! Use it on both your face and body before you step outside.
Here are some of my favorites:

Make sure you use a sunscreen that is at least SPF 30, especially if you're going to be outside for an extended period of time. Re-apply if you sweat, swim, etc.
I personally prefer the cream sunscreen over the aerosol version because it's way less messy and wasteful. I find with the aerosol version, when I spray it on myself, a lot of the product ends up being blown away by the wind. So I usually just spray it on my hand anyways and then apply.
2. DEODORANT / body spray
If at some point during the summer you wonder to yourself why people avoid you like the plague, it might be time for you to invest in a good deodorant. Nothing is more unattractive than the pungent smell of body odor. I'll be the first to admit it -- I sweat. Profusely. So I'm always super self-conscious of how I smell. Thankfully, all that is solved with a little deodorant though!
Here's what I'm using right now:

Certain Dri is a prescription grade deodorant that you can buy at the drugstore! It costs just a couple bucks, but it works fantastically. You apply it at night, and it closes up the pores in your armpit so you sweat way less in there. The deodorant itself doesn't smell like much though, so you can layer it with your favorite Secret Deodorant, because they have some fantastic scents.
Paris Amour is currently my favorite Bath and Body Works scent, and I have this small travel-friendly version to throw in my purse.
3. Hair Removal Device
It's time to shed those winter coats, ladies. And it doesn't matter how you do it--epilate, shave, wax, whatever--just make sure you take care of the hairy situation. I know I've definitely caught myself at the pool with less-than-shaven legs thinking nobody would see, but let me tell you, the sun exposes everything. So don't scrimp on the hair removal!

I'm still using my Emjoi Divine epilator. I have a full review of the product here and some epilation tips here. Check 'em out if you're interested in possibly investing in an epilator or need some advice on how to go about it! I haven't used a razor in who even knows how long.
Those are my absolute summer essentials, so I hope that helped you guys out! If you have any questions or tips of your own, leave them in the comments below or email me!
Stay tuned for more Summer Beauty Guide posts! :)
Love,
Belle
