Student Loans Are Cost-Effective

Posted on the 31 May 2013 by Jobsanger
Student Loans Are Cost-Effective This is ridiculous. I could understand a tiny percentage being charged, just to take care of the expense of making and keeping track of the student loans. But the government should not be trying to make a profit. The truth is that the government would come out ahead even if no interest was charged -- because these college graduates will pay much more in taxes over their lifetime than if they didn't go to college. And that increase in taxes paid will far exceed the amount of the loans. The government needs to stop charging the exorbitant interest. It just makes the loans harder to repay, and discourages some from applying for them and getting a degree.
