Strap-ons, Part 1

By Valeriem @Wont_Submit

This is the first in a two-part series about Lesbians using strap-ons. I decided to write this post from two perspectives; the first is the way this practice is used as an excuse to try and force Lesbians to fuck men (which is nothing new, but the trans are really grabbing at this old bullying tactic as a way to also further their lesbophobic, rapey agenda), and the second is they way dildo usage has affected me personally and my thoughts on it from a Lesbian Feminist point of view, which, frankly, will be more of a nod to previous Lesbian Feminist analysis than anything else. However, I am not one for ‘trigger warnings’, but as this blog is meant to be a safe space for more oppressed Lesbians, I just want to warn everyone that the second post will be somewhat graphic. I will be describing my personal experience with strap-ons in a straightforward way.

I think everyone knows that the dumber heteros go around saying things to Lesbians like ‘Why not just go for the real thing?’ when they are for some creepy reason engaged in a conversation about Lesbian strap-on use. That is old hat, I think, and I’ll touch on that in my second post too. I was reading something the other day though that was so proof-positive (as if we needed it) that the MTF trans don’t get was female means that I just have to point it out.

Someone concerned about Michfest had posted a link to where a female impersonator was saying that it was ridiculous to exclude them from Michfest when you consider how many strap-ons are sold there.

Well, Mr Female Impersonator, let me explain something to you. A Lesbian wearing a strap-on is still female, and you are still not. A Lesbian wearing a strap-on is no more like a male than Martina Navratilova is like a dog with a tennis ball in its mouth.Just because a Lesbian has a piece of plastic strapped to her, does not mean that she herself stops feeling like, smelling like, tasting like, sounding like, and looking like a Lesbian. It doesn’t mean that deep physical and mental connection that only occurs between Lesbians ceases to exist.Nice try – please keep making our point for us that you actually have no idea what Lesbians are.
