  •  If your competition all drove blue cars – would you?
  • If your competition all wrote with a red pen – would you?
  • If your competitors all used the same computer – would you?
  • If your competitors used WordPress for their website – would you?

wordpress alternatives
Sounds silly doesn’t it?  But WordPress (WP) is one of the most popular website platforms in the words (12% of all websites are written on WP).  So it makes perfectly good sense that most businesses use it.  It has a lot going for it – it’s a free platform, there are tons of free apps for it (called extensions), and plenty of website designers proclaiming to be WP ninja’s to choose from.

It’s so popular, and format so predictive, that even a non-techie can spot a WordPress site from across the coffee shop.

I’m sure your business isn’t like everyone else’s or you’re branding like anyone else’s – so break away from your competitors, be unique, and stop using WordPress for your website!

There are better choices for small business websites than WordPress!

For instance, I use SquareSpace for my Rhode Island SEO website – what really hooked me years ago was the backend – the burned-in SEO is one of the best in the industry.  And unlike WordPress, you never have to worry about an extension that was created in a 15yo’s garage failing and leaving your business scrambling for a replacement – the SEO is built right into SquareSpace!

One website design firm in Rhode Island that I have worked with has coded their own back-end for their custom websites burning in some great SEO right on the platform – while another creates amazing infinite scrolling parallax websites.  Both are completely unique, affordable for small businesses, and undeniably not a WordPress template site.

Options are aplenty – here are a few more alternatives to consider instead of WordPress:

So break the mold and have a website as unique as your business.

Using the same marketing tools to battle your competition is a long-path to reaching your goals.  You need to up your game if you want to conquer your local market.

Consider these WordPress alternatives and stop the WP insanity – dare to be different.
