Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) took on a new role for episode 5.08, “Someone I Used to Know” which is slated to air on July 29. The actor directed the episode in addition to appearing in it and recently discussed how the role change went over on set with TV Guide. Talking to his fellow actors about what he wanted to achieve was the easy part. The hard part was trying to keep a straight face while Stephen directed
“It was a lot of fun to sit down with each actor, explain what I was trying to do and find the best way to achieve it together…We were giggling a lot. There was a lot of, ‘God, this director’s a nightmare.’”
But in spite of the laughter on set, the characters of True Blood will be going through some very serious things according to Moyer.
“Everything you can have on our show, I had in spades…Everybody is going through monumental stuff this season.”
