Steelers to revive 1934 'bumblebee' jerseys again
The "bumblebees" are back: The Steelers announced today that the team will wear their 1934 throwback uniforms when they play the Indianapolis Colts at Heinz Field on Oct. 26. This will mark the third straight season the team will wear them.
The Steelers first wore the bold black-and-gold striped jerseys in 2012 to mark the team’s 80th season, first against the Washington Redskins and then against the Baltimore Ravens. In 2013, they wore them against the Detroit Lions.
The uniforms also feature squared numbers on the jerseys, matching striped socks and taupe pants.
