As if we don't have enough to fight about, in a Melbourne, Australia shul two people got into a fight at the kiddush over a piece of herring. It led to one stabbing the other, and then running away.

Maybe he was just trying to pick up another piece of herring with his toothpick and accidentally stabbed the guy next to him who was also reaching for it?
