Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty is the first big expansion to the highly praised Borderlands 2, although it doesn't match the highs of the standalone game, its still a great piece of downloadable content.

S&S; Review: Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty Story, Presentation, and Gameplay:
S&S; Review: Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's BootyThe story of Captain Scarlett will have you traveling too Oasis, where you'll meet the vivacious Captain.  You both set off to find the long lost treasure of Captain Blade.  The narrative is great, with an heavy emphasis on humor.  The beginning of the story starts off strong, with great characters like Shade.  The only guy left in Oasis, that still acts like everyone around him is alive, even though they're long gone. His dialog is brilliant, and proves to be one of the funniest characters in the Borderlands universe.  Unfortunately, he is the only standout character in the expansion.  The apathetic Aubrey is humorous at times, but just falls short of greatness as the narrative rolls along. Captain Scarlett herself is quite the personality, but her story arc never evolves into anything interesting.  The new environments offer up more beautiful vistas to explore, starting off in an over barren desert wasteland to some pretty lush caverns.  The new character models are really impressive, once again, Shade takes the cake.  Just the attention to detail exhibited between these characters is nothing short of impressive.  The gameplay hasn't changed much, the game is still a pure loot grab at heart.  In order to access the DLC area and missions, you need to be at least level 15.  Its pretty streamlined, just warp to Oasis from your main map.  Any Borderlands extremists will find instant gratification from this DLC, this gives anyone who has put the game down, to get back into Pandora.  There are a lot more pirate-themed enemies to kill, and a lot more levels to gain.  The Anchorman, being one of the cooler enemies, has the ability to snag you too him, Scorpion style.  Along with new grunts and hags, there are new level 50 raid bosses for you to kill.  The addition of new quests and bosses to hunt, adds even more hours of gameplay.
S&S; Review: Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty Final Thoughts:
Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty is worthy expansion to the hit shooter, Borderlands 2.  $10 bucks is a steal for this add-on, offering up hours of looting and shooting for you and your friends.
