After a week or so break from the blogosphere, today's post features some of my must have Spring pieces. Of course I've not been blogging but it has given me some time to sit down with a cuppa and catch up on reading some of my favorite blogs and watching some of my fave youtube channels. I can assure you, and I am fully aware that I am not the only one, but working, studying for final year of university and blogging regularly is a bad bad combo. I have 4 more essays to complete which still seems a rather unhealthy amount of writing between now and the end of the month, and my two finals. Also Happy Easter for yesterday - I can't believe its the 1st April today. The sunshine is currently pouring in through my window, which makes such a nice change from a dull gray sky. This means Spring is here and summer is that little bit closer. Mind you it is still pretty cold for Spring.
Back to this years Spring '13 wishlist. I have a lot of things I'm eager to buy now that warmer weather is just on the horizon (but hey don't kid yourself silly it is England after all). These are just a few of my style related favourites, but I also have a lot of beauty products on my list that I'm keen to try this month. On the subject of makeup, I must just briefly mention, I have been well and truly won over by the Real Techniques make up brushes, and without bragging too much, my make-up has been so flawless and has lasted a hell of a lot longer since I've been using these. So much so there's about another four brushes on my list to pick up. I mentioned in a previous post - my favorite UK-based stockist for these is Love-Makeup. I think some credit is also due for my new favorite Body Shop Loose Face Powder £12.50. This matte finish powder is the perfect finishing touch to set your make-up for the day, and I have to say, the Body Shop products are so underrated!
What I love about this wishlist is the pastel shades and whites. I particularly like the unique designs by clothing brand Illustrated People (not to mention that they also have a collection with Topshop) that created this classic digital sweater combining all the perfect Spring/Summer pastel shades. I also love the adore Grandmas House Sweatshirt. I've also been loving the TW Steel watch designs, particularly the Canteen TW304 style which is chunky and oversized. I'm pretty clicky when it comes to gold or silver in relation to jewelry and the last few years I have preferred gold. I think I may switch it up a bit and opt for a few pieces of silver this year. I also mentioned a few weeks back that I was on the look out for a white leather backpack for Spring. I ended up finding one on the Topshop website here, and this cute zip and punchout detail one from Asos. I particularly like the gold detail on the Asos one which creates a bit of interest. Now onto the subject of the 90's.
Now, there is a serious 90's hype this year and there is a lot of people in the blogosphere, online and in magazines sharing their snaps of their JuJu Jellies. I originally wanted a black pair, but have been keeping my eyes peeled for the pastel shades of the JuJu Maxi Jellies. This pastel pink and blue are so cute and perfect for a subtle pop of color for summer. Sadly I haven't found them as of yet in any of their stockists. Someone give me the heads up if they find them. Next up, Wildfox. A style that has been incredibly popular already this year, need I say more about these gorgeous Bel Air frame white sunnies, but at $179, can I justify spending this amount, of course. They are also available in pastel pink and black. Lastly two of my current favorite style pieces - the Topshop Joni Jeans & the Adidas sweater. The Joni jeans are a serious contender. There are several bloggers that have snapped them up in their latest fashion haul, but what really sold them was the Topshop Jeans Buyer who featured her favourites in a recent Stella magazine. From what I have heard they are the ultimate pair of jeans if you like the skinny fit. They are the perfect fit and I'm a huge fan of this light blue vintage denim color. The Sport Luxe trend is also one of my favourites this year. I love this Adidas light gray sweat, which is in fact mens, but I was pleased to see it comes in an XS. I think this would look great teamed with some Levi's denim shorts, frilled white ankle socks and a fresh pair of kicks.
I have recently had a few requests for a make-up tutorial video, but I am scouting online for a suitable camera as I'm not quite sure the quality on my SLR is perfect for videos.
Do you like any of the style pieces featured in my Spring '13 Wishlist?
