Spring Cleaning

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

Ah Monday. You always arrive much too quickly. It was a lovely weekend, temps in the 60’s (!!) and time for workouts, friends, a little cooking and attempting to catch up on sleep. All of those things were very much needed. With the warmer temps I have been on a mission to get rid of clutter. I am pretty good at having things organized and only keeping what I really need but I had a few clothing bins, shelves, make up drawers to go through and eliminate those things I don’t use. We spent a few hours Saturday and ended up with 5 big bags to go to Goodwill. That lamp that hasn’t been touched in the almost 2 years we’ve been in our house? It’s time to go! A few pairs of boots that I never wear? Also time to go. I have a few more areas to purge, but each item that was placed in a bag to donate felt pretty amazing. A few times a year I go through each closet and get rid of anything that I haven’t used in the past 6 months. There are always a few exceptions and that doesn’t apply to seasonal things like jackets, pool or ski equipment.

Along with all the closet cleaning I did a pretty thorough evaluation of my makeup drawer. That eye shadow that I have never used? Gone. And did I really need 6 nude colored eye shadows? Nope. Also gone. And since I subscribe to Birchbox and Ipsy I have a million little vials and tubes of skincare products. If it’s something that I wouldn’t normally use it got tossed. After evaluating so many products I found a few that have moved up to the favorites list.

Organic rosehip seed oil. I use this every night before bed on my face and hands and it has made my skin so soft! Rosehip also has antiaging properties as well. And the fact that it is under $10 is pretty amazing. I am on my second bottle of this and can’t recommend it enough.

Younique Mascara. Yes the hype about this mascara is true. It makes my lashes look amazing. I have one for my gym makeup bag and one for my regular makeup bag too. It’s worth the $30 price tag.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel. You don’t really get 14 days but I  can get about 6 without chips. I am hard on my nails and this polish has beautiful colors and is high shine. I had the Blacky O on last week and my nails didn’t get stained at all. I need to do a manicure this evening and am opting for a pretty lilac color.

And one of the few products I have purchased after receiving in a monthly subscription box. IT cosmetics under eye concealer. Dark circles be gone!
