Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Before you all head off to your fun weekends, I thought it’d be nice if we all take a few minutes to remember our manners, especially on social media.

Although, according to a recent study by Pew, most of us are pretty good at shying away from anything controversial.

But let’s face it, resisting the urge to releasing your opinion on the controversial topic of the moment (however well-intentioned) out into the wild for the scrutiny of the  masses is not quite as difficult as it sounds.

In fact, that sounds like the wise decision, and given the lack of substance behind most of those sharing their unfounded opinions online is frustrating as best, and can get downright nasty at worst.

The notion that intelligent, civil debates can happen online is a noble one. I will say that. I wish we lived in that Internet, but the reality is that it doesn’t matter how well thought out  your opinion is, the trolls will find you.

Perhaps our best option is to block them until they  go away, but until then, it seems most of us will be keeping our opinions to ourselves (most of us).

So on that happy note, go forth, enjoy your holiday weekend, and keep the posts light and fluffy, it’s safer that way.
