Abstract paintings, drawings, inspirations and mental process.
During these past few months I´ve working on a new abstract concept I named “Space Occupancies”. How did it start?
I was having a coffee in a terrace near MACBA (Barcelona´s modern art museum). I suddenly started watching a building in front of me that did not let me see what was behind it, though I could sense it by watching its surroundings. The more I looked, the more I wanted to see what was behind. But I couldn´t!!

I said to myself that the building was occupying a space that should have been empty before. Furthermore, this building was a plane located in front of another plane (other buildings), and this process repeated itself constantly wherever I looked.
What could I do to understand what I was thinking? Could I be able to synthesice these thoughts into words and abstract paintings? Does it have to do with the anxious intend of always trying to figure out what is coming next? Or is it the asking questions to ourselves, whose answers we are only able to sense? …. Could it also be the ephemeral space occupancy of indivuals?

From these abstract thoughts, I started drawing some sketches and watched attentive all around trying to find examples and answers.

Plane over plane, straight lines, geometry (squares and rectangles mainly), color, shadows and organic materials incorporated, are the main players. Hope you enjoy them.
