Sone Ki Toab (Golden Cannon), Golconda, Hyderabad
To be honest I do not know why is it called Sone Ki Toab (Golden Cannon) as there is nothing golden about it. After a hard search in the Golconda fort I came by this amazingly huge cannon.  It is located on the western side of Golconda fort on top of a burj (tower).
One may notice the intricate design of the cannon. There is also a Persian inscription on the cannon which I was able to read but not understand as Persian is written similar to Urdu. Unfortunately there is not a single marking which leads to this one gem of a cannon. It probably is the 2ndbiggest cannon in South India after the Malik-e -Maidan in Bijapur.
A thing I realized when I was on top of the Burj it was by far the most peaceful place  I came across in all of Hyderabad as there was not one person who came to visit the cannon nor was there any residential locality nearby.
The view from the burj is amazing as the modern IT city of Hyderbad is in front of it and behind remain the ruins of a forgotten empire.
