Something To Drink? At Multnomah Falls

This is the post in which I am going to expound the virtues of taking the time to find your camera charger and actually charging your camera before leaving for a trip and NOT assuming that because someone you’re traveling with has the same brand (Canon, I’m looking at you, angrily) that your battery will slip effortlessly into their charger upon arrival at your destination. My battery was a mere millimeter too wide to fit into my aunt’s charger which means I turned into that person I’m usually complaining about taking photos on a tablet. I’m sorry I ever judged you, I understand now. Particularly if you’re a blogger and goshdarnit you need photos because if there isn’t a photo then you weren’t really there. So all photos are either a) via Instagram or b) graciously stolen from otros miembros de mi familia. Now on to the good stuff.

Multnomah, Multonomah where to begin. If you are sans vehicular whilst in Portland you’re going to have to rent a car for this little excursion as it’s east of the city and public transport doesn’t run there. Also, there will be dogs. Portlanders have a strange affinity for carrying their dogs, especially in little contraptions that may or may not be a Baby Björn intended for actual small humans (for more evidence of this make sure to have a walk around the Saturday Market). It’s free. And now all my English teachers are cringing over my total disregard for the phenomena known as ‘transition sentences’.

You should definitely check out the little info center they have where you will promptly realize that Niagra Falls is actually pitifully small and Multnomah is only slightly better. You’re going to have to head to Venezuela if you want to see the granddaddy of all waterfalls. Now it’s time for photos and you should, nay, must take a drink. I have a sneaking suspicion you can learn lot about someone’s personality by how they drink a waterfall. Exhibit A.

My aunt favors the direct gulp. She’s thirsty and needs water now. All of it. I am not so thirsty since I have a water bottle in my purse. I go for more of the drinking fountain effect in which I use pure suction to slurp the water over and  have the obligitory dribble going down my neck. To each their own I say.
