Here’s a sneak-peek at our long-awaited, ultra-versatile ankle boot, coming your way Fall of 2015!
You asked for it: a simple, minimal boot that can take you from city streets to country trails, stylish enough to dress-up without sacrificing Soft Star’s signature, stripped-down comfort. We listened, and our Elves are on the case!
Visions of simplicity aside, designing the perfect, basic ankle boot is no easy “feet”. One of our biggest challenges was to create a toe box; we wanted to give toes space to spread and flex without using lasts while also avoiding lots of toe seams that would comprise the clean style lines we desired. Many versions later, we believe we’ve found that sweet spot:
We are also experimenting with some new leathers from the Chicago Tannery…we’re loving their cordovan and oil-tanned beige!
Soft Star’s new boot (official name to come!) is tentatively set to be released in October 2015. Be sure to stay tuned for further updates, and please let us know what you think. After all, the whole point of our hard work is to create something you’ll love :)
