Snowed In Must Haves For Those Who Hate Snow

Actually, iced in is more the term. By now, I am sure you all have heard about the embarrassing snow/ice conundrum in my fair city.  I won't bore you with the politics of how stupid all of this is.  I have only driven in ice one time and even though I made it through, I have no desire to do it again.  Most people were out playing and taking advantage of how rare the snow is in Georgia.  I , on the other hand, hate snow (and cold) and it ruined my plans. So I stayed inside. Needless to say, I need some very handy items to keep myself from going stir crazy.
Movies and a Good Book
This is the perfect time to watch some fun movies.  Most of the ones I have watched are Disney.  One non-Disney movie I recommend is The Way Way Back.  It takes place during the summer, at a beach and a lot of time is spent in a water park.  It is summer without the scorching heat.  Plus it is a great movie.  Owen is all kinds of awesome.  I have also watched Oliver and Company, which we all know is a classic.

An awesome book (and movie) that you must read/see is "The Diving Bell and The Butterfly," which is the story of French Elle editor Jean-Dominque Bauby.  The book is an easy read, but it is also very deep and touching.  I have seen about half of the movie, but I really enjoyed it.  His is an incredible, yet tragic story.

Food
I am ashamed to admit that I have eaten a lot.  Most of what I have consumed are these no bake cookies my mom made as a kid.  All you need is 4 tablespoons of cocoa, 3 cups of quick cooking oats, 1 cup of peanut butter, 2 cups of sugar and 1/2 cup of milk.  All you do is bring the milk, butter, sugar and cocoa to a boil in a sauce pan, remove from heat, then add in the rest.
Beauty Products

Moisturizing is the name of the game.  All of this cold and wind has really dried out my skin.  To help soothe it, I have a few products that I have been loving.  First up is the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter from The Body Shop.  It is a gentle option to remove your makeup, and it does a pretty good job of it.  A few of Lush's bath bombs are also good to have on hand.  Lord of Misrule is my all time favorite, but if I am in the mood for something more cheerful, I turn to Fizzbanger.  For a body lotion, I adore Lush's Celebrate.  Sadly, it is only around during Christmas. *sniff, sniff*  But Sympathy for the Skin is also wonderful for dry skin.  And if you prefer less scented options, St. Ives Soothing Oatmeal and Shea Butter lotion is great.  On my face, I use Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream.  It immediately takes care of dry flakes.

And of course, a fun manicure, coffee and plenty of makeup to play with.
