Snack from the Garden!

By Chelseajmartin

We have a hearty crop of kale (click here for a picture from the garden!) coming on in the garden and one way to use it up is to bake up a batch of kale chips. Be warned- kale chips can quickly become addictive and make wonderful snacks. I like mine a little spicy, so I always add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper.

Yesterday turned out the be the perfect day to fire up the oven and try out a spicy kale chip recipe from the White on Rice Couple. (It wasn’t too warm outside so I didn’t feel bad about using the oven) I’ll let you make jump to their site for the recipe but I will clue you in to the couple of changes I made.

Spicy Kale Chips Ingredients

(1) My kale is pretty hearty so my chips needed to bake about 4-5 minutes longer

(2) I skipped the hot pepper flakes and opted for only cayenne and a sprinkle of sweet paprika

(3) I used my new avocado oil in place of olive oil. I just like taste better!

Here’s how mine turned out-
