Smoked Purple Makeup Look for Autumn/Winter

By Poutpretty @PoutPretty
As much as I love my bright reds and hot pinks, I find it very hard to resist dark and vampy lipstick shades. MAC's Dark Side is an all time favorite and I wear it irrespective of which season it is. Last month, MAC launched the Pro lipstick shades and one color that I was drawn to was Smoked Purple, a dark black purple matte color very similar to Cyber from the permanent range. Cyber looks terrible on me but somehow Smoked Purple did not when I was trying it out at the store and after I got a vote of confidence from the SA, came back home with it.

For such dark colors, experts always say that you need to go in for neutral eyes but I did just the opposite. I paired smokey purple eyes with the dark lips. Here is a breakdown of the look.

Forgot to include the blush and lip pencil

Eyes -
1. Maybelline Color Tattoo Permanent Taupe as the base
2. Sephora Crayon Jumbo Liner in the shade Purple as the eye shadow. I applied it all over the lids and on my lower lash line
3. Maybelline HyperSharp Liner to line upper lash line
4. Maybelline Hypercurl Volume Express Mascara on the lashes
Face -
1. L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Foundation in Beige Soleil. Skipped concealer.
2. L'oreal Magique Lucent palette Blushing Kiss
Lips -
1. MAC Heroine Lip Pencil
2. MAC Pro lipstick Smoked Purple
And this is the finished look. What do you think? Would you like to try it out or too dark for you?
