Slow Cooker Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal

By Veronica46

Slow Cooker Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal tastes just like a Cinnamon Roll. Just put the ingredients into your slow cooker and a few hours later breakfast is served.

Slow Cooker Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal

I am a early riser, like 5 am riser. It is a habit that I developed because I have to be at work so early. Even during my days off I get up early. I do not want to change my sleep habits. Which brings me to this recipe. My family does not get up until 9 am or later. So when I made and tested this recipe, it took 3 hours to cook. The perfect amount of time for me. If you are not a early riser, go back to bed while it is cooking.

Not to say you probably couldn’t cook this overnight, I just didn’t want to. I know myself and I would be up every hour making sure nothing was burning and wouldn’t sleep. I know it is a baseless fear, but a fear none the less.

I love oatmeal. I know it sounds weird, but my mom used to make us oatmeal all the time. Now a days everyone acts like it is a luxury. To be honest oatmeal was very cheap and to feed her six kids mom got really inventive. We got tired of oatmeal sometimes. Especially if you ate it as often as we did. Mom would add cocoa powder and honey to our oatmeal. It was like chocolate for breakfast! Mostly though it was kind of plain. I loved it when she added cinnamon to it. It never occurred to me to add milk to it. When the milk is added it makes it extra creamy. I think the silk milk would be perfect with this too. I used 2% because that was all I had, but since Monkey Girl is lactose intolerant, the next time I make it it will be with silk.

This is one of those easy recipes that everyone will think you really went above and beyond. Only you and I need to know how easy it was to make this.
