Sid the Science Kid Read & Play iPad Review (and Other iPad Apps for Kids)

By Bloggerfather @bloggerfather
So now that I have an iPad, I love trying new apps for my boy. I'm not as possessive about the iPad as I am about my phone (especially since I bought a military-grade-explosion-surviving-iPad-case), and I'm happy to find any iPad app that doesn't involve my boy running away from killer monkeys (because only I'm allowed to play Temple Run).
One place I find apps is Smart Apps For Kids. I've signed up for email updates from them, and I get alerts when cool kids' apps become free (iPhone and iPad), or when the site has a cool giveaway (like a recent iPad giveaway, because only losers have a single iPad).

Also, while I'm here, I received from the PBS people free codes for a few PBS iPad apps to review, and my favorite is the new Sid the Science Kid app ("Read & Play").
The app includes coloring books, spot the differences, read-along stories, sing-along videos, jokes, sticker books, and more. And this time, Susie the teacher is a part of the app! Hello, Susie!

You pick stickers from the bottom and drag them to the picture. You can make them bigger or smaller too.

In the left picture, Susie is not wearing her belt.

Right now, the Sid the Science Kid app costs $2.99 on iPhone and iPod Touch, and $3.99 on iPad. Like I said, I got a free one to review.
